Edisto Saltwater Tours, LLC is an Edisto Beach, S.C. based business specializing in boat tours that explore the beauty and wonder of the ACE Basin and the inshore and near coastal waters between the South Edisto River and North Edisto Inlet. The ACE Basin consists of the combined watersheds of the Ashepoo, Combahee and Edisto Rivers in the low country of South Carolina and encompasses approximately 350,000 acres, most of which is completely natural and undeveloped. On our tours you will have an opportunity to see deer, alligators, bottlenose dolphins, bald eagles, ospreys, several varieties of herons, egrets and other marsh birds, and spectacular scenery. In addition to the trove of wildlife and plant life you will have the pleasure to encounter, our experienced captain will also provide in-depth perspectives on the geology and history of the area.
Captain Phillip Albenesius is a Certified Master Naturalist and US Coast Guard licensed Master Mariner (25-ton near coastal) with over 40 years of experience shrimping, fishing and exploring the waters of the South Carolina coast. He is also a South Carolina licensed Professional Geologist, practicing geology in the state for the past 33 years, and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Europe during the mid-1980s as a Combat Engineer platoon leader.
