Ashepoo River   Explore the Ashepoo River from Fenwick Cut to Bear Island.   It is routine on this tour to see bald eagles, eagle nests, alligators and dolphins.   The tour goes well into the freshwater river environment so guests have an opportunity to see the gradual transition from salt tolerant to freshwater flora and the “blackwater” characteristic of rivers rising in the coastal plain.    From spartina alterniflora to lilly pads, it is a fascinating journey.  The tour duration is 3 hours.

South Edisto River   Explore the South Edisto River from its terminus in St. Helena Sound up to Willtown Bluff, the second oldest English settlement in South Carolina.   This tour also provides abundant wildlife viewing opportunities and crosses well into the freshwater river environment.   The relict rice planation culture is evident throughout the upper portion of the trip as well as all of the associated waterfowl.   The tour duration is 3 hours.

Sunset Cruise   We can take up to 6 passengers on a leisurely cruise out into the mouth of the South Edisto River to view the spectacular Edisto sunsets.   This tour is one hour and 15 minutes in duration.

Circumnavigate Edisto Island   This is a cruising tour that begins at Edisto Marina, travels up the South Edisto River to the Dawhoo Cut, north into the Dawhoo River to the North Edisto Inlet, and out to the Atlantic Ocean.  The ocean part of the trip is just a few hundred feet off shore and passes Botany Bay Island, Botany Island, Old Edingsville Beach and Edisto Beach.    The tour duration is 3 hours but can be a little longer depending on how choppy the ocean leg is.

Morgan Island   Cross the breadth of the ACE Basin to get a chance to see the monkeys on Morgan Island.   The National Institutes of Health (NIH) manage a free ranging colony of 3,500 Rhesus monkeys on the island.   The boat leaves the dock early to increase our chances of seeing the monkeys out in the open.   They are usually accommodating and the scene is something you would expect to see in Central America but not South Carolina.  Even when the monkeys don’t show, the trip is spectacular and offers wildlife and scenery opportunities similar to the river tours, although in a completely saltwater environment. The tour duration is 3 hours.

Inside Loop.   Run the "inside loop" from Edisto Marina, up St. Pierre Creek to Fishing Creek and back to Big Bay Creek.  The tour includes a short excursion into Store Creek.   It's a beautiful trip with wildlife viewing opportunities and views of several antebellum plantations from the water.   The trip is 75- to 90-minutes in duration.

Custom Tours   Captain Phillip is available to provide custom tours and water taxi services to Dataw Marina, Beaufort City Marina, or Bohicket Marina for groups of 6 of less.    Rates will depend on the length of time the guests wish to spend at a given destination.   A typical Beaufort trip allowing 2 hours in the city for dining and shopping would entail 4 to 5 hours.

Call Capt. Phillip at (843) 412-7886 or email info@edistosaltwatertours.com to book a tour today!  Cash, Check or Credit Cards all accepted.  A fee of 2.75% will be added to all credit card transactions.
